Celebrity parents and parents of celebrities prove once again that they are just like the rest of us when it comes to their children.
Just ask Jennifer Lawrence. A touching video has emerged showing the 22-year-old actress’ parents gushing about their daughter’s success at Sunday’s 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, causing the “Hunger Games” star to cover her face and exclaim, “Mom, stop crying! God, this is embarrassing!” Lawrence, who won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for “Silver Linings Playbook,” had brought her Kentucky-based parents, Karen and Gary, to the glittery affair.
“Entertainment Tonight” caught up with the leading lady and her family backstage at the Shrine Auditorium in L.A. Mom and dad said they couldn’t have been more proud, with Gary Lawrence saying, “I feel like I’ve got the Secretariat in the Derby.”
