GREECE, N.Y. – The online campaign that aimed to raise $5,000 to send bullied New York bus monitor Karen Klein on vacation has ended — after tallying more than $700,000.A spokeswoman for the fundraising site Indiegogo says more than 30,000 people from all over the world have contributed, with donations coming in from 84 countries and all 50 states. The monthlong campaign for the 68-year-old suburban Rochester grandmother was the idea of Max Sidorov, a 25-year-old Canadian who was moved by a video posted online showing Klein being tormented by middle school students on a school bus. The school system in the town of Greece has suspended four seventh-grade students for a year.Klein couldn’t immediately be reached by phone Friday. © The Canadian Press, 2012 … Read More
James Holmes, Facebook User With Same Name As Suspected Shooter Receives Influx Of Friend Requests
News of the Aurora shooting set the social media sphere abuzz all day Friday, but has also resulted in some undue negative attention to users with the same name as suspected shooter James Holmes. Facebook has at least 11 accounts with the name “James Holmes,” and bunches of others that have sprung up in the past few hours to condemn — though some look more like they’re commemorating — “The Dark Knight Rises” screen shooting in Aurora. Along with ABC News’ high profile mistake when Brian Ross incorrectly linked the shooting suspect to the Tea Party on “Good Morning America,” people have been scouring social media sites for more information about Holmes. A James Holmes from Denver however took to his Facebook profile with his girlfriend to assure people that he is not the suspected shooter. Around 8 a.m. Friday morning Holmes’ girlfriend Melissa Corsaut wrote on Facebook: James Holmes and I have NOT broken up, he has the very unfortunate fate of having the same name as a mass shooter. I have recieved calles [sic] from possible employers who are checking that I am infact not dating this killer, by the way very odd conversation to have. I love James and to all who have added me (42 at the time of this post) you need to realise that the man that did this probably doesnt have a girlfriend. One hour later, that seems to have prompted Holmes to add to his Facebook page: Dearest random Facebook people who keep confusing me for a mass murderer and yet still send me Facebook requests.; [sic] I appreciate the fact that you are trying to become better-informed about the occurrences last night in Aurora, but you have been somewhat mislead, in that I am not the man who did it. I am not a 24-year-old gun-slinging killer from Aurora, I am a 22-year-old book-slinging mass eater from Littleton. Somewhat distinct, I would assume. But I would appreciate if you would read this particular post an not assume that it would be interesting to be friends with someone on Facebook who is very probably going to be in jail and not be able to confirm your friend requests anyway, or even be friends with his girlfriend, who had the rather interesting experience of having to tell someone she had a job interview with that she is not, in fact dating a serial killer. James Holmes happens to be a pretty common name, surprisingly, so try not to jump the gun. Regards, A different guy named James Holmes A spokeswoman with the Aurora Police Department told The Huffington Post she had “no idea” whether the shooting suspect James Holmes’ Facebook page had been dismantled. Weekend Open Forum: Your favorite co-op games
While I enjoy the heck out of single and competitive multiplayer games, it's hard to match the fun of a well-produced co-op experience in my opinion. There's something particularly engrossing about tackling in-game obstacles with a coordinated effort. Unfortunately, few titles step up to the plate and those that do… … Read More

… Read More
Pressens politiske rolle
… Read More
