Tongue planted firmly in cheek — and without losing it in one of his now-infamous giggle fits — Anderson Cooper used his “RidicuList” segment on Wednesday to sarcastically proclaim his love for ABC’s new stars-gone-diving reality show “Splash.” “As…

Before Andrew “Weev” Auernheimer entered the Newark courtroom Monday to receive his sentence and begin a 41-month stint in prison, the loudmouthed hacker stood before gathered supporters and read from Keats’ “The Fall of Hyperion – A Dream.”"Fanatics have their dreams, wherewith they weave/ A paradise for a sect; the savage too/ From forth the loftiest fashion of his sleep/ Guesses at Heaven …” So begins the epic — an appropriately grandiose reading for the hacker-cum-troll to choose. Keats’ poem tells a story of transcendence, in which poets and dreamers are challenged, persecuted and deified. And Auernheimer (his tongue ever wedged in his cheek) is asking for a little deification too. He is the latest victim in the government’s harsh crackdown on hackers — and he wants you to know it.Continue Reading… … Read More
In an apparent total lack of understanding of what happens when people go to shopping malls, a California security guard this weekend kicked out a young couple for holding hands and kissing at the Westfield Galleria. I ask you, America, if the day is at hand when we can’t walk around kissing our boyfriends at the mall, are they going to clamp down on getting our ears pierced and buying a Cinnabon there, too?The ejection doesn’t seem to have been entirely motivated by their public display of affection. It is worth noting that the smoochy couple singled out by security happens to be gay. Daniel Chesmore, 21, told the local Sacramento Fox affiliate this week, “I kissed him on the cheek. That’s how my boyfriend and I show affection.” And, he said, “This is exactly what we did at the mall on Saturday.” Chesmore adds that when he and his boyfriend, Jose Guzman, were confronted by a security guard, the man told them, “If you continue to kiss, you will be asked to leave the mall. Period … I counted you guys kissing 25 times.” The couple also produced an audio of the guard telling them, “I told you before, we contact any couple” about this behavior.Continue Reading… … Read More

Fashion shows are pretty much the safest place in the world to debut an avant-garde look, so, naturally, we’ve become somewhat desensitized. But we definitely didn’t see this one coming. While perusing street style snaps from Haute-Couture Fashion Week in Paris, we noticed a celebrity looking a little… different. To be more specific, Paz Vega turned up at Jean Paul Gaultier’s show looking more like Morticia Addams than herself. Like, she went totally goth out of nowhere. You remember the Spanish actress, right? She’s the gorgeous, Penelope Cruz look-a-like from “Spanglish” and she’s set to star in the upcoming Grace Kelly biopic “Grace Of Monaco.” Or, at least, she was a Penelope Cruz look-a-like. Of course, when you have those amazing cheek bones, it’s hard to look bad per se. But what’s with the caked-on foundation, Paz? Where’s your beautiful natural glow? Read More…

Las Vegas hopes to broaden its appeal to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) travelers with a sizzling new ad campaign. The tongue-in-cheek ads, which were reportedly produced by R&R Partners in Las Vegas, show dowdy-looking straight couples snapping photos and acting generally out of place amidst pairs of glammed-up lesbians and chiseled gay men in Sin City. “Everyone’s welcome,” the taglines read. “Even straight people.”Read More…
