BERLIN – The head of the European Central Bank says the euro is “absolutely not” in danger as the continent’s financial crisis simmers.Mario Draghi said in an interview with French daily Le Monde posted on the bank’s website Saturday that predictions of a eurozone “explosion” underestimate “the political capital that our leaders have invested in this union, as well as the support of European citizens.”He added: “The euro is irrevocable.”Asked whether the ECB should do more to ease the economy, Draghi replied: “We are very open. We do not have any taboos.”The ECB this month cut its benchmark interest rate to a record-low 0.75 per cent but gave little sign of further action soon to ease the crisis. AURORA, Colo. – Families are being notified by police that their loved ones are among the victims in a deadly shooting rampage in suburban Denver.Relatives of two of the dead confirmed late Friday that their loved ones were killed when a gunman barged into a crowded theatre and began firing during the midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises.”The family of Alex Sullivan issued a statement confirming his death. Man killed by tigers at Copenhagen Zoo12. jul. 2012 13.50 EnglishA 21-year-old man of non-Danish descent has been killed by the tigers at Copenhagen Zoo after apparently climbing over the fence into their enclosure.“We received a report this morning that a man was lying inside the tiger enclosure at the zoo and that he appeared to be dead,” Henrik Orye, deputy superintendent with Copenhagen Police, told DR News.“There are no indications at this point that the man was forced, although it isn’t clear whether he intended to end up in this particular enclosure. Our investigations are ongoing,” he said.The man was bitten in the groin, thigh, throat and face.Tigers found by bodyThe man was found by security guards at around 7.30am. He has not yet been identified.“The tigers were still near the man’s body when the security guards found him, but the guards were able to scare them away successfully,” Henrik Orye told DR News.The tiger enclosure has been closed off while the police carry out their investigations, but the zoo has confirmed to DR News’s on-the-spot reporter that it will open to the public today as normal. … Read More
