TechCrunch reported Thursday on an interchange between Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey and Lara Logan in which the former boy hacker delineates the difference between “criminal hacking” and the sort of activity that has been fallen under “criminal” designations owing to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. He recounted to Logan how he was hired by a software firm after he found a security flaw in their security system through hacking. TechCrunch reprinting the dialogue:Jack Dorsey: I found a way into the website. I found a hole. I found a security hole. Lara Logan: Is that– are you– is that the same thing as hacking? Jack Dorsey: It’s– ha– yes. Hacking– hacking is– hacking is– is– Lara Logan: A crime. Jack Dorsey: Well, no. Criminal hacking is a crime. SINALOA DE LEYVA, Mexico — An indigenous Mexican woman put on display in Victorian-era Europe because of a rare genetic condition that covered her face in thick hair has been buried in her home state in a ceremony that ends one of the best-known episodes from an era when live human beings were treated as collectible specimens.
With her hairy face and body, jutting jaw and other deformities, Julia Pastrana became known as “ape woman” after she was taken to the U.S. by showman Theodore Lent in 1854, when she was 20. She died in childbirth in 1860 and her body ended up at the University of Oslo, Norway.

MIRAMAR — Broward Sheriff’s deputy Arthur Reeves thought he was going to die when a shaky, masked carjacker held a weapon to his head in a predawn holdup Friday on the side of Florida’s Turnpike.
Reeves, 32, thought maybe the red and blue lights that flashed in the mirrors of his Chevrolet Suburban — legally used only by police and firefighters in Florida — meant Florida Highway Patrol was attempting to slow him down on his way home to Miramar.
Not until he stopped his SUV and the robbers approached from a red Volvo sedan did he realize the danger he faced.
